  October 31, 2025 Hello Grade ¾ families, It was great to be back together again as a classroom community. We have been settling back into our routines and have been happy to see each other again. We spent time reviewing our learning of place value and representations of numbers during this short week. We reviewed it by playing a Jeopardy game. We also did a little bit of graphing today. Grade 4’s will be continuing to engage with decimals up to the hundredths place throughout the year, and Grade 3’s are continuing to master place value representations up to 100,000. Next, we will be moving into strategies for addition.  During our literacy time we continued our learning about the differences between fiction and non-fiction as we investigated vampire bats. We discussed how non-fiction texts, including videos, provide real information and use accurate pictures. Hello families, This week was short but we managed to pack a lot of learning in. The best part was ending the week with our school Terry Fox Assembly and Run. As a community we ran 100s of laps, cheering each other on along the way. We noticed exceptional sportsmanship, leadership, and a lot of smiles. See some photos below. Learning Intentions: Grade 3:  I can identify the place value of each digit in natural number   I can express natural numbers using words and numerals Grade 4:  I can identify the place value  of each digit in a number including tenths and hundredths We were excited to learn about decimals this week. We began our learning by watching an Olympic swim race and then noticing that all of the times began with the same number- so how is the winner decided?
